CHERYL’S ex-husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini has revealed he is still single during an awkward interview with Good Morning Britain in Cannes.
The French restaurateur admitted he has “not found the right one yet” but is “in a very happy place”, just a day after it was revealed he risks a run in with his 34-year-old ex.
He insisted it wouldn’t be “weird” if the former lovers – who were married from 2014 to 2016 – bumped into each other during the film festival.
Sitting on top of a rooftop overlooking the city on the French Riviera, Jean-Bernard said: “I’ve been in Cannes for 15 years.
“I’ve come to Cannes with three ex-girlfriends, so it just goes into the same box. There’s nothing weird.
“Another year with a future girlfriend, and hopefully this one will be the right one.”
Responding to whether he had met someone else, a serious-looking Jean-Bernard replied: “Not yet.
“Right now, after quite a while and solving a lot of personal problems, I’m in a very happy place and open now to start something new.”
He then abruptly stops talking, forcing the Good Morning Britain presenter to interject: “Ladies. He’s open to something new. Best get your ticket for Cannes!”
The awkward interview comes a day after it was revealed he risked a run-in with Cheryl as he arrived in town days before she’s due to appear.
The former couple, who originally met in Cannes, are both due to attend events that are going on around the annual festival.
Cheryl is expected to fly over in the next couple of days.
The singer missed the 2017 festival so she could stay home and look after her newborn son Bear.
However, she is expected back in Cannes this week and it could lead to a very awkward encounter with her ex.

Cheryl was expected to make her first appearance as a mum as part of her L’Oreal contract at last year’s Cannes just over a month after giving birth to baby Bear, but then pulled out.
The beauty brand released a statement saying she would not be attending.
